Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 10-inch springform pan. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Place a skillet over medium-high heat. Toast the almonds in the hot skillet until they turn brown, stirring frequently; set aside to cool. (5-7 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, combine the cream cheese, milk, oil, salt, sugar, and cinnamon. Mix well until combined. Gradually add the flour and baking powder, kneading until a smooth dough forms. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Place the dough on a lightly floured surface, and roll it into a 20-inch (51cm) square. Spread the plum butter evenly over the dough, leaving a small border on one edge. Sprinkle the diced plums and toasted almonds evenly over the plum butter. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Roll the dough up tightly like a jelly roll, starting from the edge opposite the border. Pinch the seam to seal. Cut the roll into 12 even slices. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Arrange the rolls in the prepared springform pan, swirling them slightly. Brush the melted butter over the top of the rolls. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until golden brown, 40 to 55 minutes. Let cool slightly before serving.

For best results, use a high-quality plum butter. If you can't find plum butter, you can substitute with a thick apple butter or a combination of plum jam and a touch of lemon juice.
Be sure to cool the toasted almonds before adding them to the dough, as this will prevent them from becoming soggy.
If you prefer, you can bake the rolls on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper instead of in a springform pan. This will result in individual rolls rather than a cohesive cake.

I added a glaze of powdered sugar and milk after baking, and it made them even more decadent!
