For a spicier kick, add a few more slices of ginger. Experiment with different types of tea, such as white tea or herbal tea. If you don't have fresh cherries, frozen cherries can be used (thaw slightly first). Adjust sweetness to your taste. Honey or maple syrup can be used as an alternative to sugar.
