Follow The Directions

01

Step

In a glass bowl, gently muddle the pitted cherries and sliced ginger. Sprinkle the sugar evenly over the mixture. Pour 2 cups of filtered water over the cherry-ginger mixture. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Cover the bowl tightly with plastic wrap or a reusable lid. Refrigerate for a minimum of 2 hours, or preferably overnight, to allow the flavors to fully infuse. (2 hours - overnight)

03

Step

Bring the remaining 2 cups of filtered water just to a simmer. Pour the hot water over the green tea bags in a heatproof pitcher. Steep the tea for precisely 90 seconds to avoid bitterness. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Carefully remove the tea bags, gently squeezing out any excess liquid back into the pitcher. Discard the tea bags. (1 minute)

05

Step

Strain the chilled cherry-ginger water through a fine-mesh sieve into the pitcher with the steeped green tea. Press down on the solids to extract as much flavorful liquid as possible. Discard the solids. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Add the lemon juice to the pitcher and stir well to combine. Taste and adjust the sweetness or tartness as needed. (2 minutes)

07

Step

Serve the tea chilled, garnished with fresh lemon slices. For an extra sparkle, try serving it over ice with sparkling water.

For a spicier kick, add a few more slices of ginger.
Experiment with different types of tea, such as white tea or herbal tea.
If you don't have fresh cherries, frozen cherries can be used (thaw slightly first).
Adjust sweetness to your taste. Honey or maple syrup can be used as an alternative to sugar.
