Recipe View 10 mins Once the soup has reached your desired consistency, remove the ham bone (if using). If using a ham bone, shred any meat from the bone and return it to the soup. For a smoother soup, use an immersion blender to partially or fully blend the soup before serving.
If you don't have a ham bone, you can use smoked ham hocks or cubed ham instead. Adjust the amount of salt accordingly, as ham can be quite salty.
This soup can be made in a slow cooker. Combine all ingredients in the slow cooker and cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
