Follow The Directions

01

Step

Gather all ingredients.

02

Step

Place eggs in a saucepan, cover with water, and bring to a boil. Remove from heat and let stand for 15 minutes. Cool under cold running water and peel. (Total: 20 minutes)

03

Step

Heat canola oil in a skillet over medium heat. Add chopped onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until soft and translucent, about 5 minutes. Reduce heat to medium-low and continue cooking and stirring until onions are very tender and golden brown, 5 to 10 more minutes. Transfer onions to a plate. (Total: 15 minutes)

04

Step

Cook chicken livers in the same skillet until no longer pink in the center and the juices run clear, 5 to 10 minutes. Place chicken livers onto the same plate as onions and allow to cool. (Total: 10 minutes)

05

Step

Process chicken livers and onions in a food processor to the desired consistency.

06

Step

Transfer mixture to a bowl, season with salt and sugar, and stir in chopped eggs.

07

Step

Chill before serving, approximately 2 hours. Enjoy!

For a smoother consistency, add a tablespoon of chicken broth or schmaltz to the food processor.
If you prefer a richer flavor, substitute butter or olive oil for canola oil.
Serve with matzo crackers, rye bread, or as part of a charcuterie board.
Ensure the chicken livers are thoroughly cooked to ensure food safety.
