Follow The Directions

01

Step
12 mins

Gently place the eggs in a saucepan and cover with cold water. Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat, then immediately remove from heat. Cover the pan and let the eggs stand in the hot water for 10-12 minutes. (12 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Transfer the eggs to an ice bath to stop the cooking process and make them easier to peel. Once cooled, peel the eggs carefully.

03

Step
5 mins

Halve the eggs lengthwise and gently remove the yolks. Place the yolks in a medium bowl and arrange the egg white halves on a serving platter.

04

Step
10 mins

Using a fork, mash the egg yolks until smooth. Add the mayonnaise, drained shrimp, green onions, chopped dill, lime juice, Dijon mustard, and hot pepper sauce. Season with black pepper. Mix until everything is well combined and creamy.

05

Step
15 mins

Taste and adjust seasonings as needed. For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a tiny pinch of smoked paprika to the yolk mixture.

06

Step
30 mins

Spoon the yolk mixture into a piping bag fitted with a decorative tip (or simply use a spoon). Pipe or spoon the mixture evenly into the egg white halves.

07

Step
0 mins

Garnish each deviled egg with a small sprig of fresh dill. For a touch of color and spice, lightly dust with smoked paprika.

08

Step

Cover the deviled eggs with plastic wrap and chill in the refrigerator for at least 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld. (30 minutes)

For the best flavor, use high-quality mayonnaise. Duke's and Hellmann's are both excellent choices.
Be sure to drain the shrimp very well to prevent a watery filling.
If you don't have fresh dill on hand, you can substitute 1 teaspoon of dried dill weed. However, fresh dill provides a much brighter and more vibrant flavor.
These deviled eggs can be made up to 24 hours in advance. Store them in an airtight container in the refrigerator.
For a vegetarian option, omit the shrimp and add a finely diced avocado for a creamy and flavorful filling.

I didn't have fresh dill, so I used dried, and they were still really good. But I'll definitely try them with fresh dill next time.
