Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a 9x13 inch baking dish. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar and eggs until the sugar is fully dissolved and the mixture is slightly pale. (3 minutes)

03

Step

Stir in the crushed pineapple (with its juice), melted butter, raisins, and chopped walnuts. (2 minutes)

04

Step

Add the bread cubes to the bowl and gently toss until they are evenly coated with the pineapple mixture. Ensure all the bread is moistened. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Pour the bread pudding mixture into the prepared baking dish. Sprinkle the top evenly with brown sugar. (2 minutes)

06

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for approximately 40 minutes, or until the bread is fluffy, golden brown, and a knife inserted into the center comes out clean. (40 minutes)

07

Step

Let the bread pudding cool slightly before serving. It can also be chilled completely and served cold. (15 minutes)

For an extra layer of flavor, try soaking the raisins in rum or pineapple juice for 30 minutes before adding them to the mixture.
Feel free to substitute pecans or almonds for the walnuts, or omit the nuts altogether if preferred.
If the top of the bread pudding starts to brown too quickly during baking, cover it loosely with foil.
This bread pudding is delicious served with a dollop of whipped cream or a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

Be careful not to overbake, or it can become dry. Check it frequently after 30 minutes.
