For an extra golden crust, brush the top with an egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of milk or water) before baking. If the crust starts to brown too quickly, tent the pie with aluminum foil during the last 15-20 minutes of baking. Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing to allow the filling to set properly.
