Prepare the Custard: In a microwave-safe pitcher, heat the milk in the microwave on high until it begins to simmer (4-5 minutes, depending on microwave). Meanwhile, in a large bowl, whisk together the eggs and 1/4 cup sugar. Gradually drizzle the hot milk into the egg mixture, whisking constantly until fully incorporated. Transfer the custard to a saucepan. Cook over medium heat, stirring frequently, until the custard thickens enough to coat the back of a metal spoon (about 5 minutes). Pour the custard into a bowl, cover with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface to prevent a skin from forming. Refrigerate for at least 2 hours, or until completely chilled.

Jun 15, 2025The recipe was easy to follow, and the results were fantastic. The only change I made was to add a layer of fresh berries, which added a nice burst of freshness.
