Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Base: Grease a 9x9-inch square pan. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Combine Base Ingredients: In a saucepan over low heat, melt 1/2 cup butter. Stir in hot chocolate mix, vanilla extract, and beaten egg. (2 minutes)

03

Step

Thicken Mixture: Whisk continuously until the mixture thickens slightly, about 1 minute (do not boil). Remove from heat. (1 minute)

04

Step

Add Dry Ingredients: Stir in graham cracker crumbs, coconut, and walnuts. Mix well to combine. (3 minutes)

05

Step

Press and Chill Base: Press the mixture firmly into the bottom of the prepared pan. Chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour. (1 hour)

06

Step

Prepare Filling: In a mixing bowl, beat softened cream cheese with an electric mixer until smooth and fluffy. (3 minutes)

07

Step

Combine Filling Ingredients: Beat in milk, vanilla pudding mix, and confectioners' sugar until the mixture is creamy and spreadable. Add more milk, 1/2 teaspoon at a time, if needed to achieve desired consistency. (5 minutes)

08

Step

Spread and Chill Filling: Spread the filling evenly over the chilled crust. Return to the refrigerator to chill until firm, about 1 hour. (1 hour)

09

Step

Prepare Chocolate Topping: Melt milk chocolate and 1 tablespoon of butter in a saucepan over very low heat, stirring constantly until smooth. (5 minutes)

10

Step

Spread and Chill Topping: Spread the melted chocolate evenly over the vanilla layer. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or until the topping is firm but not hard. (30 minutes)

11

Step

Cut and Serve: Cut into bars and return to the refrigerator to chill completely, about 30 minutes. Serve cold. (30 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use dark chocolate for the top layer.
Toast the coconut and walnuts for added depth of flavor.
Ensure the base layer is firmly packed for a neat presentation.
If you do not have hot chocolate mix, unsweetened cocoa powder works too. Add 1/4 cup sugar to compensate for sweetness
For the filling, be sure to whip the cream cheese until it is nice and fluffy.
