For a milder flavor, reduce the amount of Thai chile or omit it altogether. Feel free to adjust the amount of soy sauce to your preference. Other types of fish can be substituted, just make sure they are white fish. To add more flavor, consider adding sliced mushrooms or julienned carrots to the steamer basket along with the tofu.
