Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 325 degrees F (165 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, cinnamon, cloves, and salt. Set aside. (5 minutes)

03

Step

In a large bowl, combine sugar, eggs, and oil; beat until smooth. Mix in baby food and walnuts. Gradually beat in the flour mixture, alternating with applesauce, until just combined. Do not overmix. Pour batter into the prepared Bundt pan. (10 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until a toothpick inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, about 45 minutes. (45 minutes)

05

Step

Let cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then invert onto a wire rack to cool completely before serving. (10 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use melted butter instead of vegetable oil.
Feel free to substitute other fruit-flavored baby food purees, such as apple, pear, or banana.
Add a simple glaze of powdered sugar and milk for extra sweetness.
Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

This recipe is genius! My little one loved the cake, and I felt good about using up the leftover baby food.

The spices are perfect – not too overpowering. I added a cream cheese frosting, and it was a hit at our family gathering!
