Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the savory filling: In a mixing bowl, combine the thoroughly drained spinach, feta cheese, mozzarella cheese, Parmesan cheese, and minced garlic. Mix well to ensure all ingredients are evenly distributed. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Prepare Phyllo Dough: Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. On a clean, flat surface, carefully lay out one sheet of phyllo dough. Lightly brush the surface with melted butter. Top with two more sheets of phyllo, brushing each layer with butter. Keep the remaining phyllo dough covered with a damp towel to prevent it from drying out. (10 minutes)

03

Step

Cut and Fill: Cut the layered phyllo stack lengthwise into three equal strips, approximately 3 inches wide. At the bottom of each strip, place about 1 tablespoon of the spinach and cheese filling. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Fold into Triangles: Take the bottom right corner of the strip and fold it diagonally over the filling to create a triangle. Then, fold the bottom left corner up to form another triangle. Continue folding the triangle along the length of the strip until you reach the end, encasing the filling completely. (15 minutes)

05

Step

Arrange and Brush: Place the formed spanakopita triangles, seam-side down, on the prepared baking sheet. Lightly brush the tops with the remaining melted butter. Repeat the process with the remaining phyllo dough, filling, and butter. (15 minutes)

06

Step

Preheat Air Fryer: Preheat your air fryer to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). (5 minutes)

07

Step

Air Fry to Golden Perfection: Arrange the spanakopita in a single layer in the air fryer basket, ensuring not to overcrowd. You may need to work in batches. Cook for 12 to 15 minutes, flipping halfway through, until the spanakopita are beautifully golden brown and the phyllo is crisp. (15 minutes)

08

Step

Cool and Serve: Allow the air-fried spanakopita to cool slightly before serving. Garnish with fresh dill and serve immediately with a side of cool tzatziki sauce for dipping.

For best results, ensure the spinach is thoroughly drained to prevent soggy spanakopita.
When working with phyllo dough, keep it covered with a damp towel to prevent it from drying out and cracking.
Air fryer temperatures and cooking times may vary. Keep a close eye on the spanakopita during the last few minutes of cooking to prevent burning.
Spanakopita can be assembled ahead of time and stored in the refrigerator until ready to air fry.
