Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your air fryer to 350°F (175°C). Cut a parchment paper round to fit the bottom of the air fryer basket. Lightly coat the parchment with cooking spray. (2 minutes)

02

Step

In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, 1/4 cup sugar, milk, egg, baking powder, and salt until just combined. Be careful not to overmix. (3 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate small bowl, combine the 2 tablespoons of sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon. Add the chopped apples and toss to coat evenly. Gently fold the coated apples into the flour mixture until just distributed. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Using a cookie scoop or spoon, drop rounded portions of the apple fritter batter onto the prepared parchment paper in the air fryer basket, being careful not to overcrowd. (3 minutes)

05

Step

Air fry for 5 minutes, then carefully flip the fritters. Continue to air fry for another 5 minutes, or until golden brown and cooked through. (10 minutes)

06

Step

While the fritters are cooking, prepare the glaze. In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners' sugar, milk, caramel extract, and 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon until smooth. (3 minutes)

07

Step

Once the fritters are cooked, transfer them to a wire rack set over a baking sheet. Drizzle generously with the caramel glaze. Allow the glaze to set slightly before serving. (4 minutes)

For extra flavor, consider adding a dash of nutmeg or allspice to the apple mixture.
If you don't have caramel extract, vanilla extract can be substituted.
Serve warm for the best experience. These fritters are delicious on their own or with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.

The caramel extract really elevates the flavor of the glaze. Will definitely make these again!

I didn't have parchment paper, so I sprayed the basket directly with cooking spray. It worked just as well!

So much healthier than deep-fried fritters, and just as delicious!

  • Lulu Cummerata

My fritters turned out a little soggy. Any tips? (Make sure not to overcrowd the air fryer and ensure the apples are finely chopped)
