Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Gather all your ingredients, ensuring they are measured and ready to go. (Prep time: ~5 minutes)

02

Step
2 mins

In a high-speed blender, combine the tomato paste, apple cider vinegar, maple syrup, molasses, mustard powder, garlic powder, smoked paprika, sea salt, freshly ground black pepper, and turbinado sugar. Blend until completely smooth and well combined. (Blending time: ~2 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Pour the blended sauce into a medium-sized saucepan. Place over medium heat and cook, stirring constantly, until the sauce is heated through and slightly thickened. Be careful not to let it boil. (Cooking time: ~5 minutes)

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a dash of your favorite hot sauce.
If you prefer a sweeter sauce, add an extra tablespoon of maple syrup or turbinado sugar.
This sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to a week. The flavors will meld and deepen over time.
Consider using a high-quality smoked paprika for a truly authentic barbeque flavor.
Adjust the amount of black pepper to your personal preference.
This recipe makes approximately 1 1/2 cups of barbeque sauce.

I was skeptical about the maple syrup, but it adds such a lovely depth of flavor. Will definitely be making this again.
