Follow The Directions

01

Step

Gather all ingredients. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Combine green tomatoes, onions, jalapeño peppers, serrano peppers, and red bell pepper in a large bowl. (10 minutes)

03

Step

In a separate small bowl, mix cilantro, sugar, garlic, oregano, and cayenne pepper together. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Fill a blender with about 2 cups of the tomato mixture, 1 teaspoon of lime juice, and 1/4 of the spice mixture; blend to your desired consistency. Pour the blended salsa into another large bowl. (5 minutes per batch)

05

Step

Repeat the blending process with the remaining tomato mixture, lime juice, and spice mixture, working in batches until all ingredients are blended. (15 minutes)

06

Step

Stir in the apple cider vinegar to complete the salsa. (2 minutes)

07

Step

Portion the salsa into bags or airtight containers and store in the freezer or refrigerator. (10 minutes)

Adjust the amount of jalapeno and serrano peppers to your desired heat level. For a milder salsa, remove the seeds and membranes from the peppers before slicing.
Freshly squeezed lime juice is crucial for the best flavor. Avoid using bottled lime juice if possible.
This salsa tastes even better after the flavors have had a chance to meld. Allow it to sit in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours before serving.
For a smoother salsa, you can use a food processor instead of a blender. Be careful not to over-process, or it will become too liquidy.
