For a smoother sauce, use an immersion blender to blend the sauce after simmering. Adjust the amount of chipotle peppers to your preferred level of spiciness. The sauce will thicken as it cools. If it becomes too thick, add a little water or apple cider vinegar to thin it out. Store the sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks.
