Follow The Directions

01

Step
7 mins

Spray a large stockpot with cooking spray and set over medium-high heat. Add pork and sauté until browned, about 7 minutes.

02

Step
1 mins

Stir in garlic and cook until fragrant, about 1 minute.

03

Step
10 mins

Add beans, recaito, olives, and sazón seasoning. Reduce the heat and simmer for about 10 minutes.

04

Step
0 mins

Add rice to the pot and stir to coat. Add water and bring to a boil.

05

Step
20 mins

Cover and simmer for 20 minutes.

06

Step
10 mins

Uncover and stir rice at the top, avoiding the slight crust on the bottom of the pot. Remove from the stove if rice has absorbed most of the liquid; if not, cook for up to 10 minutes longer.

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a smoked ham hock or some bacon to the pot while sautéing the pork.
Adjust the amount of water depending on the type of rice you use. You may need slightly more or less to achieve the perfect texture.
Don't be afraid to experiment with different types of beans, such as red kidney beans or pigeon peas.
Serve with a generous splash of your favorite hot sauce for an added kick.

I had trouble getting the rice to cook through. I ended up adding a little more water and cooking it for a few more minutes.
