Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Lightly grease a 9x13-inch baking pan. (Prep time: 5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, whisk together flour, oats, brown sugar, baking soda, and salt. Pour in melted butter and stir until evenly combined. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Press mixture firmly and evenly into the bottom of the prepared baking pan to form the crust. (2 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the crust is firm and lightly golden brown, approximately 10 minutes. (Bake time: 10 minutes)

05

Step

Remove from oven and immediately sprinkle toffee pieces evenly over the hot crust. Use a spatula to gently spread the toffee as it softens from the heat. (2 minutes)

06

Step

In a medium saucepan, melt caramels over medium-low heat, stirring constantly until smooth, about 5 minutes. (5 minutes)

07

Step

Stir in heavy cream until the caramel sauce is completely smooth and glossy. (1 minute)

08

Step

Pour the melted caramel sauce evenly over the toffee layer. (2 minutes)

09

Step

Sprinkle chopped pecans evenly over the caramel. (1 minute)

10

Step

Return to the preheated oven and bake until the edges are golden brown and the caramel is bubbly, about 15 minutes. (Bake time: 15 minutes)

11

Step

Remove from oven and let cool completely in the pan until set, approximately 15 to 20 minutes. (Cool time: 15-20 minutes)

12

Step

Once cooled, cut into bars and serve. (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use salted butter in the crust and omit the added salt.
If you don't have Heath® bars, any chocolate-covered toffee candy will work well.
Store leftover bars in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
For easier cutting, chill the bars in the refrigerator for 30 minutes before slicing.
