Follow The Directions

01

Step

Chill the havarti and cream cheese in the freezer for 15 minutes while preparing the marinade. (15 minutes)

02

Step

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the olive oil, red wine vinegar, white wine vinegar, sun-dried tomatoes, parsley, green onion, olives, garlic, sugar, oregano, lemon pepper, salt, and crushed red pepper until well combined. Set aside. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Cut the havarti block in half lengthwise, then slice each piece into 1/4-inch thick squares. Repeat the same process with the cold cream cheese. (10 minutes)

04

Step

In a shallow baking dish, artfully arrange alternating squares of havarti and cream cheese, standing them on their edges and nestling them snugly against each other. Create 2 to 4 rows, depending on the dish size. Pour the prepared marinade evenly over the cheese. Cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 4 hours, or ideally overnight, to allow the flavors to meld beautifully. (5 minutes)

05

Step

To serve, delicately transfer the marinated cheese slices to a serving platter, maintaining their alternating arrangement. Spoon a generous amount of the flavorful marinade over the top. Serve chilled with an assortment of gourmet crackers for an unforgettable culinary experience. (5 minutes)

For best results, use high-quality extra virgin olive oil to enhance the overall flavor profile.
Ensure the cream cheese is thoroughly chilled for easier slicing and a cleaner presentation.
Feel free to adjust the amount of crushed red pepper to suit your preferred level of spiciness.
Allowing the cheese to marinate overnight will intensify the flavors and create a more robust dish.
Serve with a variety of crackers, such as water crackers, rosemary crackers, or olive oil crackers, to complement the Mediterranean flavors.

The longer it marinates, the better it tastes! I made it two days in advance, and the flavors were incredible.

I couldn't find dill havarti, so I used plain havarti and added a pinch of dill to the marinade. It worked perfectly.
