Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step
2 mins

In a medium bowl, gently whisk the egg until just combined. (2 minutes)

03

Step
3 mins

Add the maple syrup, melted butter, and brown sugar to the egg. Whisk until the sugar is mostly dissolved and the mixture is smooth. (3 minutes)

04

Step
1 mins

Stir in the lemon juice and toasted walnuts. (1 minute)

05

Step
5 mins

Carefully fill each tart shell about 2/3 full with the maple syrup mixture. (5 minutes)

06

Step
2 mins

Arrange the filled tarts on a baking sheet. (2 minutes)

07

Step
25 mins

Bake for 20 to 25 minutes, or until the filling is set and the crust is golden brown. (25 minutes)

08

Step
10 mins

Let the tarts cool on the baking sheet for a few minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely. (10 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use dark amber or Grade B maple syrup.
Toasting the walnuts enhances their flavor and adds a pleasant crunch.
Be careful not to overfill the tart shells, as the filling may bubble over during baking.
If the crust starts to brown too quickly, tent the tarts with foil during the last few minutes of baking.
These tarts are delicious served warm or at room temperature. They can be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.
