Follow The Directions

01

Step
2 hrs

In a large pitcher, combine 3 cups of filtered water with the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Stir well to combine and refrigerate until thoroughly chilled. (Approximately 1-2 hours)

02

Step
1 mins

In a medium saucepan, combine the remaining 3 cups of filtered water, granulated sugar, dried lavender flowers, and dried hibiscus petals.

03

Step
5 mins

Bring the mixture to a gentle boil over medium heat, stirring occasionally to ensure the sugar dissolves completely. (Approximately 5 minutes)

04

Step
10 mins

Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer for 10 minutes, allowing the lavender and hibiscus to infuse their flavors into the syrup. (10 minutes)

05

Step
30 mins

Remove the saucepan from the heat and let the lavender-hibiscus syrup cool completely. (Approximately 30 minutes)

06

Step
1 mins

Once cooled, strain the syrup through a fine-mesh sieve lined with cheesecloth (optional) to remove the lavender flowers and hibiscus petals. Discard the solids.

07

Step
1 mins

Pour the strained lavender-hibiscus syrup into the pitcher with the chilled lemon water. Stir well to combine.

08

Step
30 mins

Refrigerate for at least another 30 minutes to allow the flavors to meld together. Serve chilled over ice, garnished with fresh lemon slices and a sprig of lavender (optional).

For a sweeter lemonade, increase the amount of sugar to taste. Conversely, for a tarter lemonade, reduce the sugar or add more lemon juice.
Adjust the amount of lavender to suit your personal preference. Start with 2 tablespoons and add more if desired, keeping in mind that lavender can become overpowering.
Ensure you use culinary-grade dried lavender flowers, as other types may not be safe for consumption.
For a more intense hibiscus flavor, use dried hibiscus flowers instead of petals.
This lemonade can be stored in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
