Follow The Directions

Step
2 mins

Prepare the Broth: In a heatproof measuring cup or small bowl, dissolve the vegetable bouillon cube in 1 cup of boiling water. Stir until fully dissolved and set aside. (2 minutes)

02

Step
5 mins

Combine and Simmer: In a medium-sized saucepan, combine the vegetable broth, ketchup, vegetarian Worcestershire sauce, dry mustard, dried minced onion flakes, salt, sugar, cayenne pepper, vegetable oil, lemon slice, honey, and minced garlic. (5 minutes)

03

Step
15 mins

Bring to a Boil and Simmer: Place the saucepan over medium heat and bring the mixture to a gentle boil, stirring occasionally. Once boiling, reduce the heat to low and simmer gently for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. The sauce should thicken slightly. (15 minutes)

04

Step
1 mins

Remove Lemon: Remove the lemon slice before serving. (1 minute)

For a smoky flavor, add 1/2 teaspoon of smoked paprika to the sauce during the simmering process.
Adjust the cayenne pepper to your preferred level of spiciness. A pinch of red pepper flakes can also be used.
Store leftover sauce in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 1 week.

The honey and garlic combination is perfect. Not too sweet, not too garlicky, just right!
