For an extra layer of flavor, try browning the butter before adding it to the sweet potato mixture. This will impart a nutty, caramel-like note to the pie.
If the pie crust edges are browning too quickly during baking, cover them with foil or a pie shield.
Allow the pie to cool completely before slicing and serving. This will help the filling to set properly.
