Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. (5 minutes)

02

Step
10 mins

Dust a flat work surface lightly with flour. Unroll puff pastry and roll out to a rectangle (approximately 12x16 inches). Spread with mustard and cover with Cheddar cheese slices, leaving a 1-inch border. Add a layer of ham slices on top. Roll puff pastry up tightly like a jelly roll. (10 minutes)

03

Step
5 mins

Slice puff pastry roll in 1/4-inch-thick slices and lay on the prepared baking sheet. (5 minutes)

04

Step
20 mins

Bake in the preheated oven on the center rack until lightly browned and puffed up, 15 to 20 minutes. (20 minutes)

For an extra golden finish, brush the pinwheels with an egg wash (1 egg beaten with 1 tablespoon of water or milk) before baking.
Experiment with different cheeses and meats. Gruyere, Swiss, provolone, turkey, or pepperoni would all be delicious alternatives.
Add a sprinkle of herbs like dried thyme, rosemary, or oregano to the mustard layer for added flavor.
For a spicier kick, use spicy mustard or add a pinch of red pepper flakes.
These pinwheels are best served warm, but they can also be enjoyed at room temperature.
Store leftover pinwheels in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a preheated oven at 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) until warmed through.

I made these for a party and they were gone in minutes. I added a little garlic powder to the mustard for extra flavor.

Great recipe! I found that chilling the puff pastry roll in the fridge for about 15 minutes before slicing made it easier to cut clean slices.

This is my go-to recipe for a quick and easy snack. I often use different cheeses depending on what I have on hand.
