Follow The Directions

01

Step

Prepare the Bacon: In a large skillet over medium-high heat, cook the bacon until crispy and evenly browned. (Approximately 10 minutes). Drain on a paper towel-lined plate to remove excess grease.

02

Step

Prepare the Grill: Preheat an outdoor grill to medium-high heat and lightly oil the grate to prevent sticking.

03

Step

Grill the Salmon: Brush the salmon portions with olive oil, ensuring they are evenly coated. Place the salmon skin-side down on the preheated grill and cook for about 5 minutes. Flip and continue cooking until the skin easily lifts off the flesh, another 5 minutes. Flip again and cook until the salmon flakes easily with a fork. (2-3 minutes).

04

Step

Prepare the Dill Sauce: In a small bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, dried dill weed, and freshly grated lemon zest until well combined.

05

Step

Assemble the Sandwiches: Spread the dill sauce evenly onto two slices of the toasted country bread. Top each with a portion of grilled salmon, two slices of tomato, two strips of crispy bacon, and a fresh lettuce leaf. Finish with the remaining toasted bread slices.

For an extra layer of flavor, consider adding a thin spread of Dijon mustard to the bread before adding the dill sauce.
Fresh dill is preferable to dried dill weed; use 1 tablespoon chopped fresh dill instead of 1 teaspoon dried.
Use smoked salmon for an even smokier flavor!
