For a richer flavor, use dark brown sugar. Adjust the amount of soy sauce to your preference. Start with less and add more to taste. If the glaze becomes too thick before the rutabaga is tender, add a little more hot water, one tablespoon at a time. This dish pairs well with roasted chicken, pork, or fish.
