Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

In a medium saucepan, whisk together the ketchup, brown sugar, molasses, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, minced garlic, cayenne pepper, and black pepper.

02

Step
20 mins

Place the saucepan over medium-low heat and bring the mixture to a gentle simmer. (Approximately 5 minutes)

03

Step

Reduce the heat to low, maintaining a consistent simmer. Cook, uncovered, for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking and ensure even cooking. The sauce will thicken slightly as it simmers.

For a deeper, smokier flavor, add 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika to the sauce.
Taste the sauce after simmering and adjust the seasonings as needed. Add more hot sauce for extra heat, or a touch more lemon juice for brightness.
This BBQ sauce can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. The flavors will meld and deepen over time.
