In a large bowl, combine the warm water, active dry yeast, and coarse salt. Allow the mixture to sit until it becomes foamy, approximately 10 minutes.

Gradually incorporate the all-purpose flour into the yeast mixture. Stir until well combined. The dough will appear shaggy and wet. Cover the bowl loosely with a damp towel and let it rest in a warm place for about 5 hours.

With damp hands, gently shape the dough into 2 loaves. On a cornmeal-dusted work surface, place the shaped loaves and score the tops a few times with a sharp knife. Allow them to rest and rise until they double in size, approximately 30 to 60 minutes.

Preheat your oven to 425 degrees F (220 degrees C).

Bake the loaves in the preheated oven. For the first 20 minutes, spray the surface of the dough with water occasionally to create a crisp crust. Continue baking until the loaves are golden brown, about 20 minutes.

For an extra crispy crust, place a pan of hot water on the bottom rack of the oven during baking.
Feel free to experiment with different types of flour, such as whole wheat or bread flour, for a unique flavor and texture.
If you don't have a warm place to let the dough rise, you can place it in a cold oven with the light on.
Halve the recipe if you only want to bake one loaf.
