Follow The Directions

01

Step
10 mins

Prepare the Broccoli: Place a steamer basket inside a medium saucepan. Add water to just below the bottom of the steamer. Bring the water to a rolling boil over medium-high heat. Add the chopped broccoli to the steamer basket, cover, and steam until the broccoli is very tender and easily pierced with a fork, approximately 5-10 minutes.

02

Step
5 mins

Blend to Perfection: Carefully transfer the steamed broccoli to a food processor or high-powered blender. Add the light sour cream, minced red onion, fresh lemon juice, chili powder, sea salt, and minced garlic.

03

Step
5 mins

Process until Smooth: Pulse the mixture a few times to begin breaking down the ingredients, then process continuously until the dip is completely smooth and creamy, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. For an extra smooth consistency, you may add a tablespoon of ice water while blending.

04

Step
3 hrs

Chill and Serve: Transfer the Broccomoli Dip to an airtight container and refrigerate for at least 2-3 hours, or until thoroughly chilled. This allows the flavors to meld together and the dip to thicken slightly. Serve chilled with your favorite vegetables, tortilla chips, or as a spread.

For a spicier kick, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a finely chopped jalapeño to the food processor.
If you don't have a steamer, you can boil the broccoli until tender, but be sure to drain it very well before blending.
Freshly squeezed lemon juice is highly recommended for the best flavor. Bottled lemon juice can sometimes have a slightly bitter taste.
Feel free to adjust the amount of chili powder and salt to your personal preference.
Garnish with a sprinkle of extra chili powder and a drizzle of olive oil for a beautiful presentation.
