Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 450 degrees F (230 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

Brush both sides of the baguette slices with 2 tablespoons of olive oil. Arrange on a baking sheet and sprinkle with sea salt. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Toast in the preheated oven until light golden brown and crisp. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Top each toasted bread slice with a slice of tomato and mozzarella. Sprinkle with sea salt. (5 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the tomato is warmed through and the mozzarella is melted. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Transfer the crostini to a serving platter. Sprinkle with fresh basil, drizzle with the remaining 2 tablespoons of olive oil, and season lightly with sea salt and black pepper. (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use buffalo mozzarella.
If you don't have fresh basil, you can use dried basil, but the flavor won't be as vibrant. Add a pinch of dried basil to the tomato slices before baking.
For a touch of sweetness, add a drizzle of balsamic glaze after baking.
