Mix the green beans and mushroom soup in a large bowl. Spoon into 9x13 inch baking dish; season with salt and pepper. Dollop the cheese spread on top of the beans in heaping tablespoons. (10 minutes)

Bake in preheated oven for 30 minutes. Remove from oven; scatter fried onions over casserole. Bake until onions are golden brown, about 5 additional minutes. (35 minutes)

For a richer flavor, try using freshly grated cheddar cheese instead of cheddar-flavored fried onions.
Add a sprinkle of paprika before baking for a touch of smokiness and color.
If you don't have bacon cheese spread, you can substitute with regular cream cheese mixed with cooked and crumbled bacon.
