Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat a 5.8-quart or larger air fryer to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C) according to manufacturer's instructions. (5 minutes)

02

Step

Spray cooking spray on the bottom and sides of a small metal container, designed to be an inner pot, about 6 inches round and 4 inches high.

03

Step

Add butter for flavor, insert inner pot into the air fryer, and melt butter. (45 seconds)

04

Step

Add bell pepper and onion and fry until softened. (2 minutes)

05

Step

Carefully remove the inner pot and stir in sausage crumbles. Sprinkle with Colby Jack cheese and set aside.

06

Step

Crack eggs into a large bowl and whisk until well combined. Season with salt, pepper, and hot sauce; stir to combine. Pour egg mixture over sausage mixture in the inner pot and lightly mix together.

07

Step

Return the inner pot to the basket of the air fryer and cook until the top of frittata is lightly brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean. (12 minutes). Continue air frying in 30-second intervals until frittata has set. Serve warm or at room temperature with salsa.

For a vegetarian option, omit the sausage and add more vegetables like spinach, mushrooms, or zucchini.
Feel free to substitute your favorite cheese, such as cheddar, mozzarella, or Gruyere.
If you don't have hot pepper sauce, a dash of red pepper flakes will also work.
Serve with a dollop of sour cream or Greek yogurt for extra richness.
