Ladle the chili into bowls and garnish with your favorite toppings, such as sour cream, shredded cheddar cheese, chopped cilantro, or avocado. (3 minutes)

For a spicier chili, add a pinch of cayenne pepper or a chopped jalapeño to the slow cooker.
If you don't have brown sugar, you can substitute it with maple syrup or honey.
This chili is even more flavorful the next day, so it's great for meal prepping.
To make it vegan, omit the sour cream topping or substitute with a plant-based sour cream.
