For a richer flavor, use homemade chicken broth if possible. Adjust the amount of paprika to your preference. Smoked paprika can also be added for a deeper smoky flavor. If dried forest mushrooms are unavailable, substitute with other dried mushrooms such as shiitake or porcini. The soup can be made a day ahead and refrigerated. The flavors will develop further overnight.
