For a richer flavor, consider adding a splash of balsamic vinegar or a sprinkle of grated Parmesan cheese just before serving. If you prefer a milder flavor, reduce or omit the red pepper flakes. Beet greens are best when used fresh. Store unwashed greens in a plastic bag in the refrigerator for up to 2 days. The beet stems are also edible! Chop them finely and add them to the skillet along with the garlic.
