Combine cranberry juice cocktail, granulated sugar, whole cloves, cinnamon stick, and orange slices in a 4-quart saucepan over medium heat. (2 minutes)

Bring to a boil; stir until sugar dissolves. Reduce heat to low and simmer for 10 to 20 minutes. (20 minutes)

Allow to cool slightly, and ladle into punch cups. Float one orange slice in each cup and garnish with a cinnamon stick. Serve warm. (5 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use 100% cranberry juice and adjust the sugar accordingly.
Experiment with other spices like star anise, cardamom pods, or ginger for a unique twist.
For an adult version, substitute some of the cranberry juice with orange liqueur or brandy after simmering.
Garnish with fresh cranberries or a sprig of rosemary for an elegant presentation.
Mulled juice can be made ahead of time and reheated gently before serving.
