Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 375 degrees F (190 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, combine the flour, softened butter, chopped pecans, and 1/4 cup of confectioners' sugar. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Mix until the ingredients are thoroughly incorporated and a soft, pliable dough forms. (3 minutes)

04

Step

Pinch off approximately 2 teaspoons of dough and gently roll between your palms to form a 3/4-inch ball. Place the dough balls on ungreased baking sheets, leaving a small space between each. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until the bottoms of the cookies are lightly golden brown and the tops remain pale, approximately 8 to 12 minutes. (8-12 minutes)

06

Step

Remove from oven and allow the cookies to cool completely on the baking sheets. (20 minutes)

07

Step

Once completely cooled, gently roll each cookie in the remaining confectioners' sugar, ensuring they are fully coated. (5 minutes)

For the best texture, ensure the butter is truly soft, but not melted. It should be easily pliable.
Finely chopping the pecans is key to achieving the delicate, melt-in-your-mouth texture.
Do not overbake the cookies. They should be pale on top and only lightly golden on the bottom.
Allow the cookies to cool completely before rolling in confectioners' sugar; otherwise, the sugar will melt and become sticky.
Store the cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

The dough was a bit crumbly, but the end result was perfect. Just be patient while mixing.
