Follow The Directions

01

Step
5 mins

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step
12 mins

Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil. Add egg noodles and cook for 8 to 10 minutes, or until al dente. Drain well. (15 minutes)

03

Step
15 mins

In a large, deep skillet, cook ground beef and chopped onion over medium-high heat until the beef is evenly browned and the onion is tender. Drain any excess fat. (10 minutes)

04

Step
5 mins

Stir in the cooked egg noodles, condensed tomato soup, condensed cream of mushroom soup, and drained sliced mushrooms. Add 1 cup of shredded American cheese. Season with garlic powder, salt, and pepper. Mix thoroughly to combine. (5 minutes)

05

Step
2 mins

Pour the mixture into a 9x13 inch baking dish. Sprinkle the remaining 1/2 cup of shredded American cheese evenly over the top. (2 minutes)

06

Step
30 mins

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes, or until the casserole is heated through and the cheese is melted and bubbly.

For a richer flavor, try browning the ground beef with a tablespoon of Worcestershire sauce.
Feel free to substitute the American cheese with cheddar, mozzarella, or any other cheese that melts well.
To prevent the noodles from sticking together, toss them with a little olive oil after draining.
This casserole is excellent served with a fresh tossed salad and garlic bread.
