Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the Frying Oil: In a deep fryer or large, heavy-bottomed saucepan, heat your chosen oil to 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to ensure accurate temperature control. (Approximately 10-15 minutes)

02

Step

Prepare the Breading Station: In a shallow bowl, whisk together the beaten eggs, milk, and all-purpose flour until well combined. In a separate bowl, combine the panko bread crumbs and seasoned bread crumbs. (Approximately 5 minutes)

03

Step

Bread the Halibut: Gently dip each halibut cube into the egg mixture, ensuring it's fully coated. Then, transfer the halibut to the bread crumb mixture, pressing gently to ensure the crumbs adhere to all sides. Place the breaded halibut on a clean plate, making sure the pieces don't overlap. Repeat with the remaining halibut. (Approximately 10-15 minutes)

04

Step

Fry the Halibut: Carefully lower the breaded halibut into the hot oil in batches, being careful not to overcrowd the fryer or pan. Fry for 4 to 5 minutes, or until the halibut is golden brown and crispy on the outside and cooked through. The internal temperature should reach 145°F (63°C). (Approximately 10-15 minutes per batch)

05

Step

Drain and Serve: Transfer the fried halibut to a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve immediately with your favorite dipping sauces, lemon wedges, and a side of crispy fries for the ultimate fish and chips experience. (Approximately 5 minutes)

For extra crispy results, consider double-dredging the halibut. Dip in the egg, then bread crumbs, then egg again, and finally bread crumbs once more.
Do not overcrowd the fryer or pan, as this will lower the oil temperature and result in soggy fish.
Ensure the oil is at the correct temperature before frying. Too low, and the fish will be greasy; too high, and the breading will burn before the fish is cooked through.
Serve immediately for the best flavor and texture.
