Prepare the Simple Syrup: In a small saucepan, combine 0.75 cup of white sugar with 0.5 cup of water. Heat over medium heat, stirring constantly until the sugar is completely dissolved. (Approx. 2 minutes). Remove from heat and allow to cool completely.

Blackberry Puree: In a blender, combine the blackberries and 2 tablespoons of white sugar. Blend until smooth and well pureed.

Combine and Strain: In a pitcher, combine the cooled simple syrup, blackberry puree, the remaining 4 cups of water, and the freshly squeezed lemon juice. Place a fine-mesh sieve over the pitcher and pour the lemonade mixture through, discarding the solids to ensure a smooth and clear lemonade.

Serve: Fill glasses with ice cubes and pour the blackberry lemonade over the ice. Garnish with fresh blackberries or lemon slices for an elegant touch.

For a more intense blackberry flavor, allow the pureed blackberries to steep in a small amount of the water for about 30 minutes before blending.
Adjust the sweetness to your liking by adding more or less sugar in the simple syrup.
For a sparkling lemonade, use sparkling water or club soda instead of still water.
