For best results, use very cold butter. You can even freeze the butter for 15 minutes before dicing.
Don't overmix the dough, as this will result in tough scones. Mix until just combined.
Feel free to experiment with different types of chocolate chips or add nuts or dried fruit to the dough.
These scones are best served warm, but they can also be stored in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 2 days.
