Follow The Directions

01

Step
10 mins

Prepare the Nopales: Heat a small nonstick skillet over medium heat. Add the diced nopales and cook, stirring occasionally, until they become soft and slightly translucent. (Approximately 8-10 minutes). Allow to cool completely before adding to the guacamole.

02

Step
5 mins

Create the Guacamole Base: In a medium bowl, mash the ripe avocado using a fork or potato masher until you achieve your desired consistency (chunky or smooth).

03

Step
2 mins

Combine Flavors: Add the fresh lime juice, olive oil, and sea salt to the mashed avocado. Stir well to combine.

04

Step
3 mins

Incorporate Remaining Ingredients: Gently fold in the chopped plum tomato, minced jalapeño pepper, cooked and cooled nopales, and fresh cilantro into the avocado mixture. Taste and adjust seasoning as needed.

For a smoother guacamole, use a food processor to blend the avocado with the lime juice and olive oil before adding the remaining ingredients.
If you prefer a milder flavor, remove the seeds and membranes from the jalapeño before mincing.
Nopales can sometimes be a bit slimy. To minimize this, rinse them thoroughly after dicing and pat them dry before cooking.
Serve immediately with your favorite tortilla chips, vegetable sticks, or as a topping for tacos and grilled dishes. To prevent browning, cover the guacamole with plastic wrap, pressing it directly onto the surface, and refrigerate until ready to serve.
