Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease a fluted tube pan (such as a Bundt® pan) generously with cooking spray to ensure the cake releases easily. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a large mixing bowl, combine the white cake mix, 1 cup of apple cider, eggs, melted butter, and instant vanilla pudding mix. Mix on medium speed until the batter is smooth and well combined, scraping down the sides of the bowl as needed. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Pour the batter evenly into the prepared tube pan. (2 minutes)

04

Step

Bake in the preheated oven until a wooden skewer inserted into the center comes out clean, approximately 40 minutes. If the top of the cake begins to brown too quickly, tent it loosely with aluminum foil. (40 minutes)

05

Step

While the cake is baking, prepare the glaze: In a small bowl, whisk together the confectioners' sugar and 3/4 cup of apple cider until smooth. Add additional apple cider, 1 tablespoon at a time, until the glaze reaches a pourable consistency. (5 minutes)

06

Step

Once the cake is removed from the oven, let it cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack set over a baking sheet. (10 minutes)

07

Step

While the cake is still warm, slowly pour the glaze over the top, allowing it to drip down the sides. The glaze will soak into the cake, adding moisture and flavor. (10 minutes)

08

Step

Let the glazed cake cool completely before serving. This allows the glaze to set and the flavors to meld. (30 minutes)

For a richer flavor, use apple cider that is unfiltered and has a more concentrated apple taste.
To prevent sticking, ensure the Bundt pan is thoroughly greased, or use a baking spray that contains flour.
If you don't have instant vanilla pudding mix, you can substitute with the same amount of applesauce for a subtle apple flavor.
The glaze can be customized with a pinch of cinnamon or nutmeg for added warmth.
Store leftover cake in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 3 days.

I had trouble getting the cake out of the pan, even with cooking spray. Next time, I'll try greasing and flouring it.
