Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch square baking pan with cooking spray. (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a double boiler or a heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water, melt the butter. Remove from heat and add the chopped chocolate, stirring until smooth. (10 minutes)

03

Step

In a mixing bowl, whisk together the granulated sugar, brown sugar, flour, cocoa powder, vanilla extract, and salt. Add the melted chocolate mixture and stir until just combined. Gently fold in the eggs until the batter is smooth and glossy. Avoid overmixing to maintain a fudgy texture. (5 minutes)

04

Step

Pour slightly more than half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, spreading it evenly. Drop spoonfuls of dulce de leche over the batter and gently swirl it using a knife or toothpick to create pockets of caramel throughout. Top with the remaining batter and drizzle the caramel sauce in an artful pattern. (10 minutes)

05

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until the edges are set and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out with moist crumbs attached. Let the brownies cool completely in the pan before cutting into squares. (60 minutes)

For an extra decadent treat, sprinkle a pinch of sea salt over the caramel drizzle before baking.
These brownies are best enjoyed the next day, as the flavors meld together and the texture becomes even more moist and fudgy. Store in an airtight container at room temperature.
If you don't have dulce de leche, you can substitute with a thick caramel sauce, but the flavor will be slightly different.
