Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C). Grease and flour a 10-inch Bundt pan thoroughly. In a medium bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, baking soda, and cocoa powder until well combined. Set aside. (Prep time: 15 minutes)

02

Step

In a large bowl, cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy using an electric mixer. Beat in the eggs one at a time, then stir in the sour cream, water, and vanilla extract until just combined. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet ingredients, mixing on low speed until just incorporated. Be careful not to overmix. Gently fold in the chocolate chips. Pour the batter evenly into the prepared Bundt pan. (Mixing time: 20 minutes)

03

Step

Bake in the preheated oven for 55-65 minutes, or until a wooden skewer inserted into the center of the cake comes out clean, or with a few moist crumbs attached. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes before inverting it onto a wire rack to cool completely. (Bake time: 60 minutes, Cool time: 10 minutes)

04

Step

Once the cake is completely cool, dust generously with confectioners' sugar for an elegant finish. (Finishing time: 5 minutes)

For an extra touch of decadence, consider drizzling the cooled cake with a simple chocolate ganache or glaze.
To prevent the chocolate chips from sinking to the bottom of the cake, toss them with a tablespoon of flour before folding them into the batter.
For a boozy twist, replace 1/4 cup of the water with Grand Marnier or your favorite orange liqueur.
