For a richer flavor, use Gruyere or Swiss cheese instead of Cheddar.
Add cooked bacon or ham for a non-vegetarian version.
If you don't have chicken bouillon granules, you can substitute with vegetable bouillon or chicken broth, adjusting the salt accordingly.
