For the best flavor, use ripe but firm avocados. They should yield slightly to gentle pressure.
Feel free to adjust the amount of cayenne pepper to control the heat level. A pinch of smoked paprika can also add a lovely depth of flavor.
If you don't have sour cream, a dollop of plain Greek yogurt works as a great substitute.
Serve immediately with tortilla chips, vegetable sticks, or as a topping for your favorite Mexican dishes.
