For an extra layer of flavor, try adding a squeeze of fresh lemon juice to the vinaigrette. Fresh herbs, such as parsley, dill, or chives, can be substituted for the dried herbs for a brighter, more vibrant flavor. If you don't have red wine vinegar, white wine vinegar or even a squeeze of lemon juice can be used as a substitute. This salad is also delicious served over a bed of mixed greens. For a heartier salad, add some chopped avocado or crumbled feta cheese just before serving.
