Follow The Directions

01

Step

Preheat your air fryer to 240 degrees F (115 degrees C). (5 minutes)

02

Step

In a small bowl, gently toss the halved tomatoes with olive oil and a pinch of sea salt until evenly coated. Transfer the tomato halves to the air fryer basket, arranging them skin-side down in a single layer. (5 minutes)

03

Step

Air fry for 45 minutes. Then, using a spatula or the back of a spoon, gently smash the tomato halves to release more moisture and concentrate their flavors. Air fry for an additional 30 minutes, or until they reach your desired level of dryness. (75 minutes)

04

Step

Transfer the air-fried tomatoes to a paper towel-lined plate to cool and further dry for at least 1 hour. This step is crucial for achieving that perfect chewy texture. (60 minutes)

For longer storage, pack the air-fried tomatoes in olive oil in a sterilized jar and refrigerate. They will keep for several weeks.
Feel free to experiment with different herbs and spices! A pinch of dried oregano, basil, or red pepper flakes can add a delightful twist.
The cooking time may vary slightly depending on your air fryer, so keep a close eye on the tomatoes and adjust accordingly.

Be careful not to overcrowd the air fryer basket, or the tomatoes won't dry properly.

My tomatoes were a little watery, so I had to add an extra 15 minutes of cooking time, but the end result was worth it!

I was skeptical, but these turned out amazing! So much easier than using a dehydrator.
