For a more intense coffee flavor, use a darker roast of coffee beans. If you don't have an ice cream maker, you can still make a semi-freddo version by freezing the mixture in an airtight container, stirring every hour for the first 3-4 hours to break up ice crystals. A pinch of cardamom or a splash of coffee liqueur can add an interesting twist to the flavor profile. Make sure your ice cream maker bowl is completely frozen before churning, otherwise the ice cream may not set properly.
